Grant Thompson Sweeps Weekend at Crisp Motorsports Park; Johnson & Fletcher Add Regionals
CORDELE, GA: On last Saturday’s Regional Qualifier, Mother Nature attempted to interrupt the party but was denied as drivers entertained the fans with great racing in all four divisions.
Just Like Friday Night, Mobile’s Grant Thompson picked up the win making it his third in a row. Mooresville’s Leland Honeyman was second, Monroe’s Max Hennebaul was third, Ford Childers of Montrose, GA was fourth and Cole McKeehan of Winder, GA finished fifth.
The combined Young Lion and Semi-Pro race were next up and Hunter Johnson of Griffin scored the win for the Young Lion’s Division and Atlanta’s Drew Dollar placed second picking up the win for the Semi-Pros. Finishing third and fourth for Semi-Pro Drivers Cody Hall of Griffin and Rafe Slate of Eatonton while Young Lion driver Ryan Rackley of Valdosta completed the top five.
Coming off his second place run on his first visit to “The Melon” on Friday night, South Carolina’s Cameron Bolin bounced back and scored the win on Saturday in the Bandolero Outlaw division, Michael Gannon of Canton was second and Daniel Clem of Eastman, Ga was third. Completing the top five were Ashton Whitener of Monticello in fourth and Justin McCool of Sturgis, Miss in fifth.
The Legends Pro and Master were the final groups for the evening which had all Pro drivers in the top five. Canton’s Dawson Fletcher scored the win, his second of the season with Corey Heim finishing second. Completing the top five were Bubba Harry of Palmetto in third, Matthew Barnard of Fort Worth, TX in fourth and Casey Tate of Atlanta in fifth.
