Cody Hall and Grant Thompson Strike Again at Watermelon Capital
CORDELE, GA: Despite temperatures hovering near 100 degrees at race time, Crisp Motorsports Park in Cordele, Ga was in action yet again on Saturday, July 22ndwhich had repeat winners returning to victory lane.
In the 12 lap Bandolero race, Mobile’s Grant Thompson continued his winning ways as he picked his fourth win of the season after starting in the back of the pack due to winning two races in a row. Monticello’s Ashton Whitener led the way until Thompson made the pass for the lead on lap 10 and went on to score the victory in a race that was caution free. Rounding out the top five were Blaise Maddox of Locust Grove in third with Keaton Hendrix and Wil Griffis of Homerville finishing fourth and fifth.
In the 20 lap Legends car feature it was the Semi-Pros and Young Lions hanging with the Pro in the caution free race. Griffin’s Semi-Pro driver Cody Hall scored his third win of 2017 at CMP while holding off fellow competitor Drew Dollar of Atlanta who finished second while Pro driver Casey Tate of Atlanta came home in third. Completing the top five were Young Lion drivers Ryan Rackley of Valdosta finishing fourth and Cale Hall of Griffin coming home in fifth.
